Cunningham Security Systems was established in 1983 by Paul and Nancy Cunningham to provide custom designed high quality monitored security systems for homes and businesses in Southern Maine. Over the years, Cunningham Security Systems has maintained that standard for offering individually designed solutions combined with professionally installed equipment at very affordable prices.
In 2005, the Cunninghams decided to retire and Michael & Mary Jean Major purchased the company. With new owners at the helm committed to providing the same unparalleled level of customer service, the company was positioned for significant growth. Over the next two years the company doubled the number of customers and a decision was made to relocate into larger offices. After 24 years in Portland, Cunningham Security Systems relocated to the former Westcustogo Inn at the corner of Route 88 and Princes Point Road in Yarmouth. After very extensive renovations this wonderful building offered plenty of room for all the office staff as well as ample parking for all of our employees and customers.
Michael and Mary Jean Major are both Maine natives, growing up in Portland and attending local schools. Michael, having been self employed for most of his working life, and Mary Jean, having worked as a dental hygienist for nearly 20 years, bring with them a combined 50 years of customer service and business expertise to this new venture. They are both committed to providing the best combination of products and customer service while maintaining affordable pricing for all existing and future customers.
