Residential temperature monitoring has become an extremely popular product. Many homeowners have realized that the damage caused by frozen pipes and the resulting water damage that occurs is very expensive and disruptive to their lives. With the number of people who travel during the winter and the number of second homes here in Maine, we have many systems in place that consist of one or more low temperature sensors, some in conjunction with furnace monitoring systems for early warning that the source of heat may be compromised. These systems in some cases are standalone systems designed solely for temperature monitoring and in other cases are just add-on devices to existing intrusion detection or fire detection systems. Either way, temperature monitoring is an easy solution to provide critical warnings to minimize or avoid property losses.
