How much does an access control system cost?
The price depends on the number and type of doors, existing locks and wiring, power and networking, credential technology, software and required integrations. Can you install a key fob system for just one door?
A single-door system can be a practical starting point. We will review that opening and how you want to add or remove users. If you expect to add doors later, include that in the initial plan so expansion requirements inform the equipment choice.
Can we keep our existing cards, fobs or readers?
Sometimes. Reuse depends on credential format, reader technology, controller compatibility and the condition of the installation. Share the system brand and any equipment information you have so Cunningham can evaluate the options.
Will the doors still work if the internet or power goes out?
Internet outages and power failures are different design conditions. Local controllers may continue making access decisions during a network outage, while remote changes and reporting may be interrupted. Power-loss operation depends on the hardware, backup power and approved exit arrangement. We will explain the behavior of the proposed system before installation.
Can apartment buildings use access control for common areas?
Yes. A system can manage common entrances and selected amenity or service areas, with permissions that change when tenants move. Visitor access, deliveries, accessibility and emergency exit operation should be considered together.
What should I include when requesting a quote?
Send the property town, building use, approximate number of doors and users, whether this is a new system or an upgrade, and your desired timing. If you have an existing system, include its brand. You do not need a complete equipment list to start.
