Protection for your home

Home alarms, cameras, fire and CO detection, and freeze and leak alerts. Cunningham designs, installs and supports the protection you need, with professional monitoring and connected controls.

Talk about your home Estimate a home alarm system

Serving New England since 1983. Building a new system? Replacing older equipment? Start with the concern you want to solve.

What would you like your home to do?

Detect an intrusion

Protect selected doors, windows and interior areas with equipment suited to the layout and the way your household uses the home. Plan separate settings for time at home and time away.

Explore home security systems

Report fire or carbon monoxide

Add compatible monitored detection and review what is already installed. Smoke, heat and CO devices have different jobs; required household alarms remain part of the protection plan.

Home fire and CO protection

Know about leaks or falling temperatures

Watch vulnerable locations such as a water heater, laundry area or plumbing in a cooler part of the house. Discuss notification contacts and compatible water-shutoff options.

Freeze, water and environmental detection

See important activity

Choose views that answer a useful question: who came to the front door, whether a vehicle entered the driveway, or what happened near an outbuilding. Recording and operator monitoring are separate services.

Plan home security cameras

Manage access and everyday routines

Coordinate compatible locks, lighting, thermostats and other controls. Start with a routine that would help you, then select the equipment and integration to support it.

Explore home automation

Check the system while you are away

Use supported app features to review status, receive chosen notifications and control authorized functions. Give each person the access they need rather than sharing the household's primary login.

Remote access and alerts

Choose what happens after an alarm

With professional alarm monitoring, enrolled signals go to a monitoring center for the configured response. App alerts can keep you informed, but receiving a phone notification is different from having a monitored emergency signal.

We help establish the protected address, useful device names, contact list and communication arrangement. A water alert, intrusion alarm and fire signal need different response plans. For a camera system, we also explain whether the service is recording, event notification, video verification or a separately arranged monitoring service.

Keep what is useful in your existing system

You may not need to start over. An existing home's wiring or compatible detectors can sometimes be retained while the controller, communicator or user interface is updated. A powered keypad alone does not establish that the equipment works correctly or has active monitoring.

Tell us the panel model if you know it, what currently works, and what you would like to add. We will assess condition, compatibility and service access before recommending a reuse or replacement plan. Start with an existing-system assessment or monitoring takeover.

Plan for the time between visits

A seasonal home needs a practical response plan as well as sensors. Who can enter if the heat fails? Is the water left on? Does broadband stay active over winter? Can someone reach the property during a storm? Those answers affect detection locations, communications and the people on your contact list.

A temperature reading beside the thermostat may not describe conditions around plumbing in a distant addition. A water sensor only detects water that reaches its sensing area. We discuss the locations that matter and the limits of each device rather than treating one sensor as whole-house coverage.

For an older finished house, wire routes and radio coverage deserve a look before equipment is selected. For a new build or major renovation, an early conversation can help coordinate wiring while walls are accessible. Detached garages and outbuildings need their own review of distance, power and environmental conditions.

A local team from planning through service

Cunningham's regional teams serve Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts. We explain equipment choices, test the installed system and show the household how to use it. Your written proposal identifies the installation and monthly services included.

For a new alarm, our cost calculator provides an adjustable starting estimate without requiring contact details to see pricing. Existing-system work, cameras, automation and unusual installation conditions need a tailored quote. New to the choices? Read the home security beginner's guide.

Tell us what matters at your home

Include your town, whether the home is occupied year-round, any existing equipment and the concerns you want to address. We can help turn those priorities into a clear scope and quote.
